6 tips towards the ideal Twitter bio

You can already find out how to make a good Instagram-bio on our blog page. But also on Twitter there is such a thing as a bio. How do you make the ideal Twitter bio? Follow these 6 steps and you’ll go a long way.

1. Add some personality

The brands that achieve the best results on Twitter really let their personality shine. Starting with their bio!

But always stick to your corporate identity. What is your tone of voice? Are you formal, informal? Keep this thought central at all times.

Can your brand use some humour and do you have the right target group for it? Then Twitter is the perfect platform to integrate some humour into your messages and your bio.

2. Use hashtags sparingly

Twitter may be the place for hashtags, but the trick is to use them in a good way. Hashtags in your bio can be important, but you have to try to use them in the right way.

Do you use more than 3 hashtags? That can already trigger a spam feeling among your (potential) followers.

So keep it on a hashtag or 2 that has to do with your brand or a certain ongoing campaign. That way you create a kind of hype around that hashtag. It’s also good for visibility on Twitter.

3. Use keywords

The bio of your account is searchable on Twitter. So you also want to make sure you include some strong keywords in your bio. Words that are linked to your industry, products, services, … That way, you will end up in the relevant searches.

4. Link to other accounts

Many brands have multiple accounts on Twitter. A parent company, subsidiary, … To create more interaction between the two, it’s best to link to the accounts in question in your bio. This way, you can generate extra followers, who are already interested in your account anyway.

5. Use emoji!

Emoji are a language themselves. That’s why it’s not so crazy to put some in your bio.

But beware! Some emoji have a double meaning and can be ambiguous to use. So make sure you know the meanings of the emoji you want to use. Here you will find an overview.

6. Finish with a Call To Action

Seal off your bio with a message to your followers. One that triggers action! Visit your website? Buying products? Contact us?

A call to action is always a good idea. Not only your Twitter-bio, but also on Instagram, Facebook, your website, printed matter, you name it. It’s the best way to get people to take action.
