Sitting for hours staring at your smartphone, brainstorming sessions that don’t deliver anything (or at least not much) and lost a lot of time. We’ve all experienced it before: searching for good social media content, but not knowing where to start. Here’s the push you need.
You want to keep your social media activity up to date, but your ideas are not inexhaustible either. Sometimes it can be hard to find fun and original things to post on social media, without losing relevance.
But, uh… nice posts are closer than you think. We’ll give you some tips on how to fill your social media calendar with fun, relevant posts.
1. Social media holidays
A very handy way to post some great posts every month is simply to use social media holidays. #WorldEmojiDay ##AprilFools, #NationalComplimentDay, #DrinkWineDay, #NationalSelfieDay, …
These are just a handful of examples from the hundreds that are available! You don’t have to use them all, just look which one suits your sector or industry.
2. Share quotes
Who are your idols? Are there persons who have been important in your sector? Sometimes it’s just a matter of choosing a nice image and adding a quote from that person. And that’s it!
Quotes generally do pretty well on social media. You also show your followers that you are passionate about your work.
3. Ask questions
What’s going on in the minds of your followers? Use the chance to find out! Ask your followers a question and possibly hang a small contest on it.
On Instagram you can easily launch a poll or even an open question in your stories.
4. User-Generated Content
An excellent opportunity to boost your engagement: user-generated content. For example, if you have a clothing store and someone posts a photo with your clothes: repost this and you’ll have good social media content right away.
It’s not only good to build engagement, it’s also ideal to get free influencing.
Is your number of followers not so high yet? Then try to encourage people to share a photo on their social media with a certain hashtag when they buy your product. Link this at a certain contest and there you go!
5. Behind the scenes
Your followers are also sometimes curious about what’s going on behind the scenes. How do certain things end up in your shop? What’s involved in building a website? What things sometimes go wrong in your company?
Let your followers occasionally participate in fun or funny moments that they otherwise wouldn’t get to see. It gives them a sense of belonging, good for engagement.
