Too few story views on Instagram? Increase them with these tips

Do you ever put a story on your Instagram page? But don’t you get the number of views you wanted? Try using these tips to boost your story-views!

1. Analyze

If you measure, you know. That’s where it all starts. Don’t you know why your views on your stories are so low? Then you’ve already lost.

Use your Instagram analytics to find out what trends are behind your views. Rank your stories on high and low views to see what performs best and worst.

Keep an eye on things like what kind of story it was (lifestyle, product, UGC, repost, …), the copy you used, which days of the week, which time of the week, …

Do you see a certain trend in the posts that are doing well? If so, put extra effort into this and leave out the posts that do less well more often. It could already be a first, good step.

Let's start with a good IG-bio!

2. Add relevant hashtags & locations

Hashtags and locations on Instagram are ways to increase the reach of your content. Both on stories and regular posts.

When people search for locations, they can also immediately scroll through the stories linked to that location.

In addition, you can add as many as 10 hashtags to your story. Including 1 clickable hashtag sticker. Make sure you have relevant hashtags. Hashtags between 10k and 50k messages is ideal.

3. Post consistently

It isn’t the most shocking tip, no. But it’s a very simple one: be consistent in the stories you post.

The more consistent, the greater the chance you have of reaching your audience if they are tapping through their stories.

It creates a snowball effect, bringing you (as with any new story) to the top of the feeds of your followers.

4. Use stickers for engagement

Stickers are an ideal way to stimulate the engagement of your target group. That ensures more involvement and you guessed it: more views.

The best stickers for more engagement are the poll, the emoji slider and the question stickers.

5. Cross-promotion

And of course you can use your normal posts to give your stories a boost.

A simple way to guide your followers from a regular post on your feed to your stories is to add a call to action to the copy of the post. “Vote now for our poll in our story”, it can be as simple as that!
